More Unfinished Projects

I have had a special treat this week, my mother has been watching my 3 youngest children. That is why I have been able to finish some projects. During this week, I have also made four of these knitted dishcloths. I gave two away as gifts to friends and the two below, are for my mom. She likes them.

This is a Barbie Sleepover set I made for my young daughter.

I am not finished with the sleeping bag yet because if requires some

sewing. I only used Ken below because he was the only one that

was adequately dressed. My youngest daughter likes to take

all the clothes off of Barbie. Who knows why?????

Fresh Paracord Designs

This is my sons new business making bracelets and keychains out of paracord.

Two Completed Projects

I am in the process of finishing unfinished projects that I have strewn about my bedroom. I have no extra rooms in my home for a craft room, so my bedroom has become office, craft room, family room at night and lastly bedroom. I am getting old and all my projects are getting on my nerves. I want a clean room and only one or two projects going at a time. Is this possible????

I have been trying to stay on target and work on one project and see it to completion. It is working a little. I have two projects that I have finished. YEAH!!!!

I made both of these projects for my daughter. I am not sure if she likes them at all, but I wanted to make them for her.

Craft Fair and Curtains

Another weekend Craft Fair. It has been a busy month for me and I am done with craft fairs for a while.

This craft fair was held at Northeast Christian Church in Lexington, KY.

Maybe I can participate next year. Now to get busy making.....

I also made some curtains for a friend of mine's daughter.

It was a huge job, but they turned out so nicely.

My Fun Weekend

Fun and Relaxing Weekend

This weekend I was invited by a friend to attend a craft fair. I went with her and we had a nice time. The traffic for the fair was not what I was expecting. I made enough to replace my fee. Below are pictures of my table at the craft fair. The fair was called the Kirksville Community Center Craft Fair. It was an old school that is no longer used that has been turned into a community center.

I made this lovely little pillow for my mother.

I purchased this kit at my LYS.

This kit is produced by Pine Mountain Designs

and is called Thoughts of Mom

It came with the pre-made pillow

and then you stitch the inside part and insert it.

The pillow came out quite well I think.

A wonderful Mother's Day gift for a wonderful person.

I am still in the process of making these items.

My daughter likes Barbie dolls and I like to make items for her Barbie.

I have done all the knitting required, but now I need to do the

sewing part. I need a zipper to make the sleeping bag and buttons

to sew up the small pillows. So fun...

Hello to all!!! I have made or finished a few things lately, but just cannot seem to find the time to post.
I finally finished my 3rd Santa Pillow. I am not sure of its future yet. Would you like to buy it?
I might try to sell it or keep it for one of my children.

Below is my recognition of St. Patrick's Day. I made it into a necklace and then forgot to

take a picture of me wearing it. I want to make another on like Marilee Rockley did

on her site with beads. Maybe soon.....

I did not design it. It came out of the book Tatting Doilies & Edgings

edited by Rita Weiss on page 23.

A doily for my daughter. It ended up very UK looking.

Such a nice blue. The pattern came out of a Decorative Crochet

Magazine and is called Small and Lovely on page 13.

This last project I have made lately is for Easter.

Small barrettes made into bunnies for little girls.

Such fun. I bought one of these from someone

who had made one and then made some for myself.

Jewelry Pouches for My Daughter

I made these for some Christmas gifts last year.

My daughter wanted one so here I am finally getting around

to making her one.

I had enough fabric so make several extra ones.

They are easy to make.

Doilies for a delightful boy

I have three sons and enjoy each of them. I have always made items for them since they were young.

Although the two oldest do not ask for many items any more, I still have a young son (5 yr) that still wants me to make him something. He asked for some doilies quite a while back and I was able to make three.

The problem I had was that it was a set of six and I never felt like I completed the project for him.

Since this is going to be my year of UFO's getting done, I picked the three remaining doilies as my last project.

Guess what??? Now the three doilies are a completed project. YEAH!!!!

It feels so good to me to complete something and not leave it lying around like I have done for so many other projects.

Santa Pillow

I found this pattern for a Santa Pillow. The name of the pattern is Santa Pillow by Bernat.

It was a free pattern at my local Jo-Ann Fabric Craft Store. My mother collects Santa's.

I made her one and then my kids start chiming in about wanting one

also. So I have made another one. This one is for my youngest son.

It will be a wonderful Christmas decoration in his home someday.

I do like the circular baby blanket. It is just like making

I start so many projects and get the easy part done and then let it sit for ages trying to psyche myself up to do the hard part. I am sure that the remaining part probably is not that hard, but add factors of 5 kids, cooking dinner, washing clothes and running to activities and I let things sit. Anyway, I started this bookmark thinking it would work up quickly and be extra easy. It turned out to be worked in size 30 thread and was difficult to hold and so small it was easy to get lost in the pattern. Anyway, I am finally finished. My second UFO finished so far this year.

I made a blanket for my children to snuggle up with when

they watch a movie or t.v. show. It turned out extremely nice.

I am so glad the blanket will be able to bring warmth to their

Hello fellow friends!! It has been quite a while since I last posted anything. I am always working on something, but have a hard time taking pictures and posting. My husband was out of state for the past 7 months with his job and that limited my time even more being a single parent. As a new year resolution, I would like to finish some UFO's at my house and not start anything new. I doubt I can do that, but I will try. So here are some things that I have finished in the past months, weeks and days. Happy Crafting to You!!!

Supplies

The above supplies are for a gift for my mother. This yarn will make at least 3 of the

trees you see below. Since I have made one, I only have 2 to go. This is one of my

UFO's lying around my house.

Knitted Christmas tree

This crocheted ball is one of my favorite things I have made in a long time.

I made three and tried to sell them at a craft fair, but sold none.

So, I decorated my house with them. Isn't it lovely!!!

The assortment of balls I made hanging in my kitchen.

A quick project for my kids. I am using this big yarn so that it is working up quickly.

The yarn is Bernat Baby Blanket.

This is a blackwork design I got out of the Just Cross Stitch magazine.

I changed the design slightly just because I like it better the way I did it.

The above project is a work in progress and below it is finished.

I am planning on finishing it myself and making an ornament out of

it for my youngest daughter. She likes cats.

I think it will be a nice addition to her Christmas tree someday.

Hopefully, she will appreciate the fact that I made it for her

because I love her and that is how I can show my love for her.

My summer has flown by and I have not had a chance to post but one thing. I have been busy doing this and that, but can't seem to find the time to download my pictures and update my blog.

So here goes...

Here is all my wool yarn for a felted purse project.

I am going to sell them. The prices will be $35 with handles and $15 without handles.

Adorable isn't it. It is the first of three. This one will be the largest one.

Delightful Doily

Silver Frame Purse

Sewing has become somewhat of a "new" old

hobby for me lately.

My daughter has taken a liking to sewing herself and

I find myself making things for her continuously.

I bought the fabric to make two purses, but had

enough leftover to piece together 5 more.

I think they are adorable.

They turned out great and are easy to assemble.

Cross Stitch Nativity

I have been trying to get some UFO's done at my house this summer.

This is the first to completion. I made this item for my home.

It is a Lizzy Kate Design. I like their designs

and all of them seem so cute.

I ended up enlarging this 2X.

Hopefully, someday soon I will be able to get it framed

so that I may enjoy it by Christmas.

It has been a while since I have posted anything. Summer has hit at my house and it seems I am busy, busy, and busy. I was able to get a few days away with my hubby and got to tat a little. I have been wanting to make this for some time. It worked up really easily and quick. I made one in purple also, but misread the directions and am having to redo a part. I will post the picture later. I made this one with size 10 Lizbeth thread. I will probably frame this when the time allows. Have a happy tatting day!!

Classic Cloche

Classic Cloche Hat

I made this hat for myself. As I age, I like hats more and more. I need to make some finishing touches with the underside of the brim. I used the yarn from Knits Picks named Telemark. It is the color Lazurite Heather. This yarn is a 100% Peruvian Highland Wool. The pattern is also a Knit Picks choice called Classic Cloche. This pattern is very easy. I did have to change my needle size down because the first time I made this hat, it was waaaaay too big. I have enough yarn left over to make a second one for one of my daughters. Since this is my first time making a hat, I had trouble putting the Timtex into the brim and making it fit my head circumference.

It is a beautiful color and matches my eyes so well.

For a new project, I ordered a snowflake book from Handy Hands and have been trying to make every one in the book. I have enjoyed tatting these snowflakes.I only have a few done so far, but will continue to add more as they are made.

Hardanger Ornament

This post is a continuation of a previous post I made several days back.

I had made a Hardanger Cross Bookmark and had fabric leftover.

Mmmm..... What to do with leftover fabric?

Make something else was my final decision.

I found this small motif or ornament in a book I had and decided to try it.

The name of the Hardanger book is A Nordic Christmas I In Hardanger Embroidery

by Members of the Nordic Needle Staff.

I think it turned out rather nicely.

I just need to add a few decorative beads in the big squares and

some detail work to the center and I will be done.

I did go to the craft store today to find some beads, but when I

got home I noticed they cost me $12. That is too much

for 4 beads needed for this project. I will try a different store tonight

to see if I can find anything else.

I have made a crocheted baby blanket for each of my children. The one below is for my baby daughter who is turning 3 in September. Yes, it has taken me that long to get it completed. Although, I did start it a few months back and it is quite easy to crochet, I just can't seem to find the time to complete it. I do feel accomplishment when done with a project there is that lag of all the finishing and sewing together. Those are my least favorite parts.

This Unsquraed Baby Throw is a free pattern from Lion Brand Yarn.

Treat Bags

Tiny Treat Bags are from the magazine Quilts and More Fall 2010 issue. I made these for fun and to try and sell. My daughter made one of the pink and black bags for herself. My daughter likes to sew so I thought this would be a great project for us to do together because of its level of difficulty - simple. The black and white bags are very small maybe 1" wide x 3.5" across x 2.5" tall. The others are bigger at 1.5" wide x 4" across x 4" tall. They all turned out great and we enjoyed sewing together.

Tatting Press - Again

These are two new tatting presses I have made. One is for me because I liked the fabric so much I wanted to make myself one. The second one is for my darling daughter even though she does not tat yet. She begged me to make her one. I am happy with the outcome. I did change this pattern to include a smaller width of ribbon. I think I like it better than the wide ribbon. I love the sea green fabric. I think it is very nice.
