The Nymphalidea

I made this and it turned out very nicely. I used Madelinetosh Merino Light in Fathom color and Zauberball Pause in Blau color. I really like this design. It was easy and works up fairly quickly if you don't start more projects at the same time. haha

Forgive Quickly Kiss Slowly

I made this cross stitch for my husband as a gift for Christmas. This present took me a long time to finish. I started it years ago and have been on a lets finish my UFO's binge. I keep trudging forward. This design is from LIzzie Kate designs. #595 booklet. Its probably out of print since it took me so long to finish. I will upload a picture soon.

Shawl

I really like this pattern, but I had a hard time reading it. I think it was not written well and being a new knitter, I had a hard time figuring out what I was not doing right. I think this is a delicate and pretty pattern.

I made this for my 3rd son. Its a size 2-4 and I finished when my son turned 12. At least, its not a UFO anymore. It's a cute sweater!!

I absolutely loved making this doily. I made it for my friend. It is very easy and goes super fast. I had made the flower part  and then let it sit for several months. I decided to get some projects finished this year that have been WIP's for too long. I got the red and white border done in an afternoon binge watching tv. I loved this pattern so much, I plan on making one for myself in my favorite colors. My Ravelry link is listed after the last picture. The pattern is named Country Christmas Doily.

Since I am working on finishing my WIP's this year, I decided to tackle one of my projects that have lots of yarn. This project had 2 bags of yarn so I started with this project for my daughter. It is such big yarn that it worked up super fast. I got it finished in about a month or less. The pattern is from one of my baby blanket books that had no link in Ravelry. I'll  to find the pattern and update this info soon...

This is the Petal Parade Doily. I made this as a gift for a friend. I like this doily also. It was pretty easy and I would like to make it again in alternate color choices. It is easy to crochet and would make and added addition to any home decor. The link to the pattern is after the last picture.

December Craftings

As always, I have been keeping my hands busy.  I find a few minutes here and there

and before you know it, I have a finished object.

 Handmade cards made by rubber stamping.

 A Christmas doily I made for my home.  The pattern is beautiful, but gets

lost in the variegated thread. I want to make another using a solid color.

 I made this cup holder/sleeve for one of my dear friends.

I hope she gets lots of use out of it.

 This is a deco mesh wreath I made for my front door.  I love the bow I made,

but not on this wreath.  Even though the bow has blue snowflakes in it, you cannot see them.

I changed the bow out, but did not get a new pic.  I will try to add one later.

Finally, I made a cowl for myself.  I know I look goofy, but my braces look worse.

Just a month longer and I will get my braces off.  Hooray!!!

The cowl keeps me warm in the cold.  I love it and very easy to knit.

Vacation Tatting

We went on vacation last week.  I got a little crafting in by finishing up a few

ongoing tatting projects and knitting on a doily.

I am so happy to be done and proud of finishing.

 This is a bookmark.  I found the directions on the internet somewhere, but the 

actual directions are for edgings from Tatting Doilies and Edgings

by Rita Weiss.  I am sorry the picture is not that good.

I am trying to get better, but don't have a studio.

The beginnings of a knitted doily.  It is named leaf doily I think.

 

 My first two rounds of the tat-a-long on Tat-a-Renda's site of the 

Norma Benporath doily.

This is a heart bookmark in size 60 thread.  I found this on an internet site also.

I will try to link later.  My kids are calling.

Tatted Ornaments and Lace Mat Tat-along

 The two ornaments were made from the directions in the book below.

I like this book because it has small ornaments that can be done quickly.

I used size 10 thread and I am not sure of the color name, but it is Flora thread.

Bracelets for daughter

 These bracelets below I made for my daughter and one of her friends.

I got the pattern out of an Interweave Crochet magazine. 

The pattern is called the Bogeda Bracelet.

It took about one hour to make one bracelet.

 

Crochet Shawl

Finally finished!!!  YEAH!!! 

I started this about 3 months ago and it worked up quickly.

I thought to myself,  this will be done in no time....

Then I set it down and did not pick it up for a couple of weeks.

Anyway,  I am trying hard to finish the projects I have begun.
 This pattern is from Family Circle Easy Crochet Magazine Fall/Winter 2005.
The name of the pattern is Poncho and Cloche pattern #1.

Would this item be worthy to enter into a contest?

What are your thoughts/ides?

These are the makings of a pillow for darling daughter #2.

She like kitties and we found this cute fabric.  Then I went searching for

a simple pattern.  I found it on all people quilt.  I will add the link later.

This is a blackwork cat that I finished in January.

I made it for my daughter mentioned above.

I thought about entering it into the KY State Fair so I had to finish it

and this is how it turned out.  Do you think it is contest worthy?

The below hobby horse is for a baby gift to a friend.

As you can see, I am still in the process of working on the cording.

I found a great blog that explains how to finish ornaments like this.

Tatted Elephant and Crosses

Here are a few tatted items I have finished lately.

 

This elephant I tatted is by Jane Eborall. You can find the pattern

I am sorry these crosses are sideways, but when I downloaded them they 

switched on me.  I don't know why that happens, but they were the right 

orientation.

This is a pair of earrings that I crocheted from and Interweave crochet supplement.

I used size 80 thread and they measure about 2" across.  They are pretty,

but were hard to work with since the thread was so small.  For the third motif,

I want to make a necklace out of it.
