More Christmas Trees

Felted Christmas Trees for my mom's Christmas decorating.

A Felted Christmas tree I made last Oct.

Two more trees ready to be felted.
I will make a few more since I have leftover
yarn.  Hopefully, I will at least be able to
make two.  The pattern for these knitted trees
can be found in the
Interweave Knit Gifts Holiday 2011.
The before size of the medium tree is 16 in. tall
and the small tree is 12 in.  I will post the size after
I felt also.  There is a large size, but that one is
completely done and packed away in my mom's
Christmas decorations.

A finished pillow I made for my youngest darling daughter.
I thought it turned out quite cute.
I did not make it "perfect" seeing as that it will
probably only last a few years before it is
ready for the trash.

This photo showcases a small blanket that I
made to match  the pillow.
The pattern for this pillow can be found at All People Quilt.
It is called a Hour Glass Pillow.

Jewelry Pouches for My Daughter

I made these for some Christmas gifts last year.
My daughter wanted one so here I am finally getting around
to making her one.
I had enough fabric so make several extra ones.
They are easy to make.
Enjoy the steps of making a jewelry pouch with my
pictures below.

1. cut circles of contrasting fabric two at 12" and two at 8.5"

2. Iron in half.
 3. Sew buttonholes on outer portion of 12" circle approximately 3/4" from outer edge.

4. Sew the 12" circles right sides together.
Then do the same for the 8.5" circle.
I used a 1/4" seam.

5. Then cut a hole into the center to turn the right side out.
Iron flat.

6. Sew the outside edge of the 12" circle  2 times for the ribbon.
7. Lay the two circles on top of one another and stitch together.
I used the green pattern in the picture for my "bottom" and stitched around it
then made spokes away from the "bottom" to create the pockets.
8. Add the ribbon of choice for the drawstring and your all done.

Enjoy your finished project!!!

January 4, 2012

Hello fellow friends!!  It has been quite a while since I last posted anything.  I am always working on something, but have a hard time taking pictures and posting.    My husband was out of state for the past 7 months with his job and that limited my time even more being a single parent.  As a new year resolution, I would like to finish some UFO's at my house and not start anything new.  I doubt I can do that, but I will try.  So here are some things that I have finished in the past months, weeks and days.  Happy Crafting to You!!!

Supplies

The above supplies are for a gift for my mother.  This yarn will make at least 3 of the
trees you see below.  Since I have made one, I only have 2 to go.  This is one of my
UFO's lying around my house.
Knitted Christmas tree
This crocheted ball is one of my favorite things I have made in a long time.
I made three and tried to sell them at a craft fair, but sold none.
So, I decorated my house with them.  Isn't it lovely!!!
The assortment of balls I made hanging in my kitchen.

A quick project for my kids.  I am using this big yarn so that it is working up quickly.
The yarn is Bernat Baby Blanket.

 my work in progress

This is a blackwork design I got out of the Just Cross Stitch magazine.
I changed the design slightly just because I like it better the way I did it.
The above project is a work in progress and below it is finished.
I am planning on finishing it myself and making an ornament out of
it for my youngest daughter.  She likes cats.
I think it will be a nice addition to her Christmas tree someday.
Hopefully, she will appreciate the fact that I made it for her
because I love her and that is how I can show my love for her.

Happy Crafting to You All.

p.s. - I will try to add the books I got the patterns out of
as I can.  None of these are original designs from me.

Update from summer....

My summer has flown by and I have not had a chance to post but one thing.  I have been busy doing this and that, but can't seem to find the time to download my pictures and update my blog.

So here goes...

Here is all my wool yarn for a felted purse project.

One on the felted purses I have finished.  YEAH!!!
My second felted purse not quite done.

Second Purse almost complete

Here are some regular socks with a beaded edging added for my daughters.

Here is a close-up of a pair.

These socks were made for baby gifts for a friend and neighbor.

This is a purse I made for my daughter.  I had so much fabric left, I made 7 more.

The above purses are all from the same pattern.  I made 7 extra ones.
I am going to sell them.  The prices will be  $35 with handles and $15 without handles.

Pretty Felted Christmas Trees.  These are in the latest Interweave Knits Holiday Magazine.
Adorable isn't it.  It is the first of three.  This one will be the largest one.

Snowflake Dishcloth (crochet)

Several Snowflake dishclothes.  Christmas presents already completed.

Happy Crafting to all those who visit.
I hope I can get to my tatting here soon.
I need 15 tatted Crosses for gifts.
Goodnight.
