Vacation Tatting

We went on vacation last week.  I got a little crafting in by finishing up a few
ongoing tatting projects and knitting on a doily.
I am so happy to be done and proud of finishing.

A snowflake from the book Festive Snowflakes and Ornaments by Barbara Foster.

Another tatted cross to sell or giveaway as a gift.

This is a bookmark.  I found the directions on the internet somewhere, but the
actual directions are for edgings from Tatting Doilies and Edgings
by Rita Weiss.  I am sorry the picture is not that good.
I am trying to get better, but don't have a studio.

The beginnings of a knitted doily.  It is named leaf doily I think.

My first two rounds of the tat-a-long on Tat-a-Renda's site of the
Norma Benporath doily.
This is a heart bookmark in size 60 thread.  I found this on an internet site also.
I will try to link later.  My kids are calling.

One more tatted cross in the works!!!

Have a great day!!!

Tatted Ornaments and Lace Mat Tat-along

The two ornaments were made from the directions in the book below.
I like this book because it has small ornaments that can be done quickly.
I used size 10 thread and I am not sure of the color name, but it is Flora thread.

Recent Stitching Projects

Cross Stitch Veggies for my kitchen

A tatted Cross I made for a gift.

 An ornament in progress.
It is from the blue book 2 pictures down.

This is a heart bookmark that I am making with size 60 thread.
It is taking me a while to finish.  The small size is hard for me to work with.

These are some rubber stamped cards I made for a gift to a friend.
I hope she likes them.

Happy Crafting to you...

Ruler Wreath and start of school

I found this ruler wreath on a blog at  here  and I decided to make 2.  One to giveaway as
a door prize at the beginning of our Co-op and the other for me.

the giveaway ruler wreath door prize
I am making this pink teddy bear for a friend that
had a baby.  I will post more pictures when I make it
into an ornament.

Here is my cross stitch with the edges turned under and glued.
Now I have to add the cording.

This is a great gift that a friend gave to me last night
at the open house for our co-op.  I was so excited -
teeny tiny Tatting thread.  I cannot wait to make her a gift
with it.  I just have to finish the heart bookmark that
I am making in 60 and 80 count thread.  It is so tiny,
it takes me a little longer.

Ruler Wreath #2 for me.  I love it.

Happy Crafting to you!

Drop Stitch Scarf

Drop Stitch Scarf

I had this beautiful yarn leftover from a different project and just had to
do something with it.  So, I decided to make a drop stitch scarf with
the leftovers.  It will make my neck warm come wintertime.
It is made with Kid Seta by Madil shade 463 lot # 57510
and 18 Karat by Knit One Crochet Too color 228 lot # 0605.
I used big size US 19 knitting needles and this project worked up in a flash.

I try to make lots of these to keep on hand to give away or sell.
My mother just took the last of my stock.  Now I am in the process
of replenishing my stock.  It might take me a while, but I will
eventually get it done.

Happy Tatting!!!

Bracelets for daughter

These bracelets below I made for my daughter and one of her friends.
I got the pattern out of an Interweave Crochet magazine.
The pattern is called the Bogeda Bracelet.
It took about one hour to make one bracelet.

New Projects

I know, I know I said this was the year to finish projects and not buy them....  But, I just had to make these things.  One of the item is crewel work and I have never done it before and wanted to try something new.  This is also a reminder of sorts to myself of how long it takes me to finish things.

The cover wrap is the one I want to make out of the yarn in the 1st picture.
I am sorry this picture is sideways.  I changed it before I downloaded it and now it is goofy.
I wish I knew computers better so I could orient the pictures correctly.
Anyway, I want to knit a wrap for myself.  I get cool at church when the air conditioning
is blowing and thought an elegant knitted wrap would be beautiful.

A "new" craft for me to try - crewel work
The yarn above is hemp.  I saw this pattern below and thought I might try
to make these sandals for next summer for me.

This yarn is dyed by me and I will make some coasters and a
bowl.

I am excited to get started, but need to finish a few items I have had sitting around for some time now.
Happy Crafting!!!
